The mute swan is a bird that is today native to much of Central Europe.
It prefers lakes, parks and fish ponds, shallow bays and, in winter, open rivers. The name of the species comes from the black bump on the beak. Hawk swans have an extensive voice repertoire. However, they are less loud and their calls are less pleasant than from other swans.
